Everybody at one time or another has battled against unsightly algae or mould around the house and backyard. Mould or fungus can appear on the walls, ceilings and driveway or in the swimming pool. Damp conditions are common across many Central Coast areas and can allow algae and mould to flourish, damaging paint, wall paper and eventually the very structure of your home or building.
Unfortunately, mould can also damage your health. Mould in the atmosphere can cause or worsen nasal congestion, respiratory infections and asthma. Believe it or not but those little mould spores can put you in hospital.
Effective algae and mould control often takes a considerable amount of time and money. The best solution is to use preventative chemicals and techniques to minimize blooms and even get rid of algae and mould altogether.
Glasons effectively treat surfaces using our specially tailored algae removal products, such as Mould and Spore Killer prior to pressure cleaning.
These products produce outstanding results and leave surfaces looking rejuvenated and fresher than ever. With the trusted Glason team you will be able to breathe easy once more.
Green Algae: An extremely common variety, green algae will usually rear its ugly head immediately following a hazy condition in the water due to lack of proper filtration and/or sanitation.
Yellow Algae: A wall clinging variety, also called mustard algae. It is usually found on the shady side of the pool. It is sheet forming, and can be difficult to eradicate completely.
Black Algae: Perhaps the most aggravating strain of algae. Black algae will appear as dark black or blue/green spots, usually the size of a pencil eraser tip. Their roots extend into the plaster or tile grout, and unless the roots are destroyed completely, a new head will grow back in the same place. The heads also contain protective layers to keep cell destroying chemicals from entering the organism.
Pink Algae: Actually a form of bacteria. It appears as spots or streaks in corners and crevices.
